First coaster?
I have a weird feeling there is already a topic about this...I dont know maybe im crazy...so what was your first coaster?? And how old were u when u rode it?

Mine was a Go-Gator at a local fair....probably a year or two old

and your ready to get off the ride and take the merry-go round...
You change your mind, throw you hands in the air
and ride the roller coaster all over again."

My first coaster was The Loch Ness Monster.I rode it the year it was opened 1978,I was 10 years old.At the time The Loch Ness Monster was the first, and is the only coaster still operating, to feature interlocking loops. When it first opened in 1978, it was the world's tallest roller coaster(130feet).It scared me so bad, that I would not ride anything else that day.I did not get on another coaster until the next year at KD,my mom finally convinced me to ride The Scooby Doo. 8)

Ah the power of opinions. Something that no one seems to understand Big Grin

My first ever coaster was The Comet at Hershey park. I was probably around 8 years old. I was so scared to ride it, but my dad kept insisting. I loved every second of it.

The comet was my first TRUE coaster...we waited in line for over an hour...not a good way to start off my coaster career  but it was great when we finally got on!!

First Coaster Over all: Scooby Doo, age 4
First Coaster Over 50': Rebel Yell, age 10
First Coaster Over 100': Anaconda, age 12
First Coaster that had an Inversion: Shockwave, age 12
First Coaster Over 150': Alpinegeist, age 15
First Coaster Over 200': Griffon, age 17 (Apollos is only 170' tall, but with a 210' drop.)
First Coaster Over 300': Intimidator 305, age 20

The need for speed is NOT a habit nor occupation, It's an Addiction!

My first coaster was the octopus type coaster they had in Hanna Barbara Land, I believe it was called squiddly diddly... it was in the early 80's. My first "real" coaster, was of course Scooby.

I guess that was my first too. I remember that one! It had the octopus in the middle, and the wooden tubs/barrels went around it on the track. Now that's bringing back some memories!

I'll try to remember to look through my parents pictures next time I'm there. I bet they have a lot of old KD pictures.
