Re: Official Shockwave Topic
After all the times I've been to KD, I've NEVER forced myself to ride Shockwave. I'm wondering if I should keep that tradition going or not...

^I would say ride it. Not many of this type of roller coaster left. In a few years they may all be gone. Shockwave is a lot of fun.

I tend to ride in car four/front row/left side & have found that, other than the transition into the helix the ride is pretty smooth with some good air on the camelback following the helix.

I ride Shockwave from time to time because it's easily the most thrilling ride in the park... No other ride makes me feel like I'm closer to death than good 'ol Shockwave Wink

Seriously though, the first drop is kinda fun.

Re: Official Shockwave Topic
With the loop & supports consisting of one structure does anyone think they'll paint the whole thing green or paint the verticle beams of the loop teal? I guess we'll find out in a couple weeks.

Re: Official Shockwave Topic
the way they only appear to be painting the loop green, I think the vertical supports will be teal.

Re: Official Shockwave Topic
I have only ridden Shockwave once in all of my visits to Kd. My friend made me ride it in the front seat first ride. After words I realized how fun it was but actually scared me while riding. Took a real shift from sitting to standing. I don't like the super slow lift and the long wait for getting dispatched...

Roller coaster lover and always will be..... Fav. ride intimidator 305.... I wish to work there one day!

Saw the ride myself today. They're painting all the track green and the supports turquoise. There is also a new logo on the trains.

What color are the trains? Are they Shockwave trains or King Cobra trains?

Yeah dude, first drop in the back seat gets the whipping action of I305.

Shockwave trains, and they haven't been painted. I will say I got to see the ride do several dozen test runs yesterday, and it looked a lot smoother. The helix after the loop looked really smooth, really crisp.
